Frisbee Dog Entertainment for the 49ers
The NFL San Francisco 49ers hold an event called “Family Day” annually to kick off the start of the NFL training camp period and the football season. It was held this year at Candlestick Park in San Francisco on Saturday June 13th. This was the third “Family Fun Day” in which I have provided Frisbee dog entertainment. I started working with the 49ers back in 1999 and have been doing half time shows, pre-game shows, and sidelines entertainment for them on and off ever since.
My first big star was “Extreme Pepper” who ended up being the 49ers canine mascot for the entire 1999 & 2000 seasons. We were invited to every home game during the season and Pepper caught Aerobie TM superdiscs for the sold out stadium crowds. I was excited to bring my dogs back on the field last Saturday. I dug out Peppers original 49ers sequenced dog vest Friday night. My mom custom made it for Pepper back in 1999. The vest boasts the 49er logo on both sides. I was proud to officially hand it down to “Flashy Ferrari” on Saturday for the big day. She wore it proudly, knowing she was wearing the legacy vest of a the 2000 IDC national champion Frisbee dog, “Extreme Pepper”. It fit her perfectly as she flew across the 50 yard line making dept defying catches that left everyone in utter shock!
Ferrari had big paws to fill on Saturday as only the best Frisbee dogs of all-time have performed at Candlestick park. The greats will never be forgotten; Scooter the Wonderdog, Skyy Dog, Cow Dog, and of course my first star Extreme Pepper. Now at only two and a half years old; Flashy Ferrari takes the riegn as the new superstar. She is one of the most talented disc catching dogs to ever perform at an NFL stadium!
Ferrari was just one of my talented dogs catching Aerobie TM superdiscs on Saturday. The rest of my team included Soaring Sierra, Air Ripley, Nitro Neo, and Action Jackson. They were all stars and made me extremely proud on Saturday! Being able to perform with Ripley and Neo at the stadium again was a real treat for me too. Assisting me on the field was my favorite Dad (Lon Perondi). He handling the dogs and turned the rope with me as Ferrari jumped rope on the 50 yard line. I was able to get some wonderful photographs from the performance thanks to sweetheart Suhey Velez!
Overall, it was a grand day and an honor to be apart of the 49ers family day 2009!

I’m in training for a chance if it comes my way. I chase blue herons, tennis balls, egrets, soft balls, gulls, stuffed toy ducks, doves, squirrels, and ospreys. I’ve told my human to buy me a frisbee immediately. It looks like so much fun! Visit me at http://www.sandysays1.wordpress.com

That must have been alot of fun out there. It looks like you & dogs were having a blast out there.
What an inspirational tale of achievement for you and your freestyling disc dogs!
